This is a unique opportunity to run and grow the farm food forest attached to the Lon Retreat.
Be your own boss on your own time and you could not only be growing and expanding the Food Forest you could also be growing the supplier base and getting as much out of this as you desire.

History of the Plot: The Permaculture inspired Plot was fenced and begun about five years ago. It has been a challenge to eradicate the native couch grass and provide hedges of Tree Lucerne to shelter the Plot. There is now an ideal environment for growing a variety of produce year-round.

Opportunities: The Food Forest is the preferred supplier of seasonal produce for Lon Hotel, Spa and the new Food Van. Weekly orders are invoiced monthly. Produce must be washed, presented ready for use and delivered to the Retreat. A point of contact will be provided to the Lessee.

Further opportunities: There is the possibility of produce box sales, workshops, events, and negotiation with existing client to further develop the potential of this unique Plot.

Included in the rental is a License Fee. All items produced on the farm and in the Food Forest are required to have specific branding.

Branding is important as several of the plants grown come with a family history. The early settler garlic has grown on the farm for over 150 years. The Rhubarb has been cultivated by the family for over 40 years. The Asparagus was originally planted on the farm four generations ago. Story is a great marketing tool!

Farm produce trees: Olives and heritage brown figs grown near the Homestead are available for sales and processing by negotiation.

Herbicides: The Plot has been grown to be as chemical free as practical. Herbicides are used on the pathways. Only natural pesticides are used on all garden beds and plants.

Bee Keeping: Bee location is to be noted. If Lessee wants to locate hives near the Food Forest this may be negotiated. It may be possible to relocate the current hives.

Sheds and structures: Current poly tank sheds may be used for storage purposes. Relevant permits must be applied for when required for any further structures (green house etc.)

Area: 1500 square meters. 30 x 50 meters.
